The Nittaku Acoustic Carbon G-Revision is a high-performance table tennis blade designed for players who seek a perfect blend of power and control. With its unique construction, this blade caters to both offensive and defensive styles, making it versatile enough for various playing techniques. The G-Revision version features innovative enhancements over its predecessor, offering improved feel and responsiveness, which is crucial for achieving precision in shots.
The blade composition includes a combination of wood and carbon, providing the ideal balance of flexible feel and rigid support. The laminated structure contains layers of high-quality wood combined with carbon fibers, which enhances the blade’s speed while ensuring excellent touch. This material selection makes the Acoustic Carbon G-Revision well-suited for players who like to play with spin and require a stable platform for their strokes.
In terms of weight, the Nittaku Acoustic Carbon G-Revision is considered medium, allowing for agile play without compromising the power needed for aggressive smashes. The thickness of the blade is designed to accommodate greater ball feedback and vibration dampening, creating a pleasant playing experience. Players who value the importance of feel in their gameplay will appreciate the subtle sensations delivered by this blade.
Flexibility is another notable feature of the G-Revision, as it offers a balanced flex that supports varied strokes, from looping to counter-hitting. This allows players to generate significant power while maintaining control during fast exchanges.
For those exploring alternatives, the Nittaku Acoustic blade line includes several options tailored to different playing styles, such as the standard Acoustic or the Acoustic Carbon for a touch more speed. However, for players seeking enhanced performance across a broader spectrum, the G-Revision stands out as an excellent choice in the competitive market of table tennis blades.
This blade should be more well-known, the reviews that have been done are truly few and there is only material available in Japanese. The sound it produces is very pleasant and the vibration in the hand is very enjoyable, this aspect provides the much-mentioned control when hitting the ball, the G adjustment makes the hand fit better and the grip is very comfortable, especially when switching from forehand to backhand. I don’t have an inner carbon to compare but everyone agrees that the control in both is very similar, only that in this model a little control is sacrificed for speed due to the external carbon layer, but it is not very noticeable, at least for me, at an intermediate level. The size of the handle is just right for my hand, I chose the Flare, so the adjustment they made to it makes it easy for me to quickly switch from the serving grip to the normal grip to start the attack of three balls. The finish is very good, only I noticed stains on the seal of the central wood, but looking closely it corresponds to the nature of the Thong wood, so it gives it a very nice rustic touch without compromising the quality. I would recommend this blade for intermediate and advanced level players to combine it with good rubbers, be careful I read opinions that it is not good to combine it with rubbers that have carbon in their sponge because it takes away all the control that the wood gives you and the ball goes flying. I am assembling it with a Fastarc G1 rubber to complement it very well on the FH.
I have been playing with the Acoustic Carbon since 2018 and thought I would try the revision. After a couple of months, I really don’t notice any difference in play. The handle shape is comfortable but not a big deal. I didn’t need to sand the wings to take the sharp edges off, so that was a plus.
