Composite/carbon
I’m surprised that more people haven’t tried the Tenaly blades. The angled handle makes a big difference in the ease of backhand and forehand shots, and the blade overall is excellent.
I wasn’t a fan of the flared handle that comes standard, so I removed it and created my own grip based on the Tibhar Lebesson Anatomic grip. I’ve since modified my other blades to have angled handles, including the Tibhar Lebesson, Stiga Energy Wood, and my latest, the Tibhar Stratus Power Wood. They’re all good, but the Nittaku Tenaly is still the best.
I use Rasanter R47 and Fastarc G1 rubbers, sometimes Joola Rhyzm 425 and P. They’re all great rubbers. But I highly recommend trying the Tenaly style blade. It could significantly improve your game. The speed, control, stiffness, and weight are all nearly perfect, at least for me.
I’ve owned the Nittaku Tenaly Acoustic and loved the feel of the ergonomic handle. It sits and hangs on my middle finger, allowing a looser grip on the handle. After returning to traditional handles for a few years and improving my game with carbon, I decided to go back to the Tenaly/ergonomic handle. This time, I wanted a carbon variation but didn’t want to break the bank. Enter the Nittaku Tenaly Carbon.
At $90, this blade is a great value. BH rubber: TSP Super Ventus; FH rubber: Victas V15 Extra. My backhand improved dramatically due to the blade’s light weight. However, my forehand was more difficult to keep on the table. I had to make my stroke more compact since the ball shoots off the racket quickly. Spin and speed were great.
One gripe I have is that the feel in my hand isn’t as good as the Nittaku Tenaly Acoustic. Other than that, this is a great value blade for those looking for an ergonomic handle, a light blade, and a speed upgrade.
Forehand is amazing. I will never go back to regular blades.
It opens your backhand, but once you get used to it, it’s good.
Very good.
The brilliant blade and the angled handle are a revelation, and it has improved my playing.
The only problem is that the handle is too short and flared, which I dislike. Consequently, I am in the process of making anatomic handles for it. The fact that they only offer one type of handle is an oversight, in my opinion.
Now I am altering some of my other blades to an angled grip as well.
Good communication and fast delivery.
Over the last 5 years, I’ve tried many different handles, from round and square to pistol and flared designs.
Finally, I found the perfect blade/handle combination for my right hand. Plus, having MX-P on my forehand and EL-P on my backhand has elevated my overall attacking style.
I have other paddles that I like better.
Improved my forehand right away. My blocks on the backhand improved immediately as well.
It takes a bit of time to get used to the different angle of the blade.
However, it has a lot of potential and is worth a try!
