All-wood
I was recommended this blade by a friend, and I was not disappointed.
It’s a quality blade at a great price, especially on sale. For my intermediate skill level, it provides a very consistent feel, and the weight balance is spot on.
The flared handle fits comfortably in my average-sized hand.
The D. Neubauer Dominance rubber works perfectly when paired together.
This is an all-wood Nittaku Tornado King blade that I purchased, and mine weighed 83g. I also own a Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro, which is the same weight and about the same price.
I have used the Samsonov for a year or two and like it very much. So, when I purchased the Tornado King, I had high hopes, but I didn’t really expect it to be so excellent. Compared to the Samsonov, the feeling is a little softer when hitting, and I think it has greater dwell. Speed is about equal, but there is so much difference in the feeling.
They are really not that much different, but the Tornado King is head and shoulders above the Samsonov. For that matter, I also have a Clipper Classic (same weight) which I have used for 4-5 years. The Tornado King rivals the Clipper, but I have not determined which blade is preferable. But for now, I would pick up either one and be happy.
This is a great all-wood, lightweight blade with good handling.
It has much better speed than I expected and produces a good sound when hitting the ball.
I used 2.0mm Vega Europe rubbers on both sides, and I can pick up this blade and immediately feel comfortable and ready to play. It does everything well.
A quality racket that is light, which is a great advantage.
I purchased two of these blades from TT11 during the Black Friday sale.
These are my favorite blades ever, and I have tried plenty. They are good at everything!
Also, the service was, as always, excellent from the best TT company.
Similar to the DHS Hurricane King I, I have one too. The main difference is the sensation one feels in the hand when using the Tornado King; it’s like that of Swedish-made blades. I would say it almost certainly has a hollow handle.
It has a hard feeling due to the wenge wood top veneer, which has a Janka hardness level above koto wood, used on the Hurricane King. But despite the hardness, it has good flex due to a thickness of 5.4mm.
The second veneer is pine wood, like that of the H-King, but just thinner. If you are used to the feel of koto but feel like trying something with a harder feeling, then wenge is worth a go.
