All-wood
I gave four stars only for the rather small handle instead of a large size.
Handle size seems normal for a blade. Perfect blade for intermediate players building good technique.
Handle not as big as I expected. Actually, it’s just a bit bigger than a normal violin.
Love this blade. Nice handle. Nice weight. Feels right. Easy to maneuver. Great feeling. Pairs really well with a fast, spinny rubber.
The company Nittaku has pleased tennis players from all over the world with the release of this legendary blade with an enlarged handle. Previously, the Violin was released with a thin FL handle 22 mm thick, not very comfortable for many players. Otherwise, its characteristics have not changed. Speed at the border of OFF / OFF-, exceptional ball feel, and excellent control. In addition, almost all types of rubbers, both hard and soft, can be used on it. The Violin is excellent for playing with pimples, both long and short. It is also worth noting the amazing quality of manufacturing this blade.
Having used it personally for 1.5 years, I would put my views based on the standard parameters people look for:
Feel: Awesome, very different than usual all wood blades.
Control: Great on loops as well as drives --> point and shoot with dwell time (one needs to get used to dwell if they are coming from a faster/composite blade).
Spin: Great rotation on the balls as well as spin on serves.
Speed: More than average of all wood blade; Smashing is a great feeling.
To summarize, this is a blade with unique characteristics for an all-around aggressive player. It really excels at the table; a few feet back one should be using one’s strength to maximize the effect of play using this blade.
For collectors:
The outer layer of this blade is white ash, and the finish looks so good that I didn’t even feel like gluing my rubber on it.
Great blade.
Excellent touch, enough speed, very flexible!
Actually, I like this blade so much that I ordered a second one!
Excellent feeling, control, and offensive play all wrapped up in this blade!
Very good blade. Feels the ball. Forgives the mistakes.
Big delay + hard outer white ash wood - gives you enormous spin potential! I use it with Sieger PK50 rubber - the perfect combo for me. 3rd ball power attack is very difficult for your opponents, with a good variety of spins and good control for all-round play, you can even chop with it! Also, Violin has a big sweet spot compared to other all-wood blades. Speed is on the lower end of “off.”
A beautiful blade that gives you everything you need, also speed when combined with an offensive rubber. Excellent Tabletennis11 service. Thank you!
This blade is definitely the best I’ve tried so far. If you are looking for a blade that excels in control, rather than speed, I suggest you try it. Very forgiving.
If you want a moderately fast offensive blade with good feeling, this is the perfect choice. The quality of the build is simply perfect. The white ash outer plies are beautiful and special. I don’t have big hands, but this large handle version is very comfortable for me. So, if your hand size is average, I can offer this version. It’s a flexible and thin blade that’s good for looping, but the feeling is hard and solid. The speed is in the OFF- range, but the control is very high. I use Haifu BW on FH, and Xiom Vega Asia on BH. I’m very satisfied with this blade.
Decided to try this out because of its excellent reputation. Did not disappoint. Tabletennis11 was a breeze to deal with and even sent me the list of weights for each blade they had in stock. Received the blade in 3 days shipping in the USA at no cost. Second time I’ve ordered from TT11 and really impressed with this company.
My Violin is 88 grams (I typically prefer a weight around 80g) and plays like no other wood blade I’ve ever tried. The handle thickness is awesome and finally, I feel comfortable. The balance of the blade is perfect, even with the higher weight.
No need for carbon unless you’re a top-level mid-distance player with this blade. It’s all about precision, spin, and feel. Flips on FH and BH banana go over with ease and placement.
The blade has gears as you increase power but there is a limit. This is not a fast blade, maybe All+ to Off-. But paired with Tenergy 05 powerful + high throw rubber it is the best combination for attacking close to the table I’ve used. Craftsmanship and quality equal the best I’ve seen and possibly even a notch above Butterfly. 3 months in, I know that I will be using this for a long time with enjoyment.
A nicely finished blade. Good control with enough power.
I use it to play backhand with long pimple 0.5 mm sponge.
High-quality offensive blade with good vibrations, balanced for spinners.
Perfect quality, control is excellent (with T05/64), flexible and good vibrations.
If you don’t play it, you don’t understand the value of this blade.
Amazing spin and control; someone said slow instead, but I find it fast enough because every shot goes exactly when you want.
Blocking is easy; I never can imagine why a lot of users love it.
It’s absolutely a dream.
One word: Amazing and highly professional assembly of the blade from tabletennis11.com. The blade is very elastic and the sound is wonderful. I have Xiom Sigma 2 Euro max on both sides.
Thanks to all the staff at TT11, very fast in responding to both technical and commercial questions. Very happy with your courtesy and the nicely assembled racket. Thanks again, Francesco Rinaldi.
In the category celodřev VIOLIN belongs to the absolute highest class. Professional processing Nittaku quality, excellent playing characteristics. In.fa.Tabletennis 11 repeatedly to shop, always fully satisfied.
Very good blade, feels perfect control.
It’s one of the best blades for playing with spin and all-around playing.
The quality of this blade is undisputed. Excellent finish, and the L handle is very comfortable. (Nittaku should make their regular FL handle like this!)
The performance of the blade is just ok. It should be labeled OFF-. If you are used to dynamic composite blades, or even the Acoustic, you might be disappointed with the Violin.
However, if you are curious about this blade, the low price and great service from table tennis 11 make it worth it to try.
I really like this blade. It’s soft with full control.
Paired with T05, it’s the best blade I’ve ever played with.
TT11 is a great site with good products at good prices.
Fast shipment, though to the US, it took about three weeks to receive the stuff. Great service.
I put H3 National Blue Sponge 40 degree 2.2 and Tenergy 64 2.1 on 93g Violin Large Handle. The total weight is 186g. It’s a very balanced set up.
Previously, I used ZJK ALC with the same rubber. Although Violin is slower than ZJK ALC, you can use your own strength to produce powerful loops.
This blade is excellent for looping and smashing, blocking is very good, and control is very good. You can defend and attack with ease, which I can’t do so nicely with a composite blade.
I have been using Violin since 2006. I’m looking for a heavier Violin large handle. The heaviest I found before was 88g, so a 5g difference is huge.
Now it’s my primary blade. Violin is a must-try blade if you’re looking for a good feel and control blade. It’s a recommended blade for a beginner to develop his strength, not relying on the blade to get the power.
This blade is ALL+/OFF-, has a unique crisp feeling, amazing control, and is just perfect for a spin-oriented, close-to-the-table game. It’s also great for chopping, although I’d suggest Violoncello for a defensive game.
The blade itself is rather flexible. It shines if paired with harder rubbers.
I had stopped playing with Violin because I could not get accustomed to the thin “normal” handles (ST and FL). Now this L-size ST handle is just the best ST handle I ever played with. Welcome back, Violin!
Использую совместно Tibhar Evolution EL-P & Palio Blitz.
По моим ощущениям вот что получилось:
Контроль 95 (потрясающий!)
Скорость 75 (средняя)
Вращение 85 (очень хорошее)
Ручка удобная (я перехватываю справа налево)
Баланс немного “в голову”.
